Especially now, when we shouldn’t leave the house, we find it hard to resist all the goodies that are waiting for us at home. Often we also reach for the refrigerator out of boredom and do not distinguish between hunger and appetite. But since summer is just around the corner and we want to feel good in our skin until then, we want to avoid gaining unwanted pounds. Fortunately, there are enough foods that are not only healthy but also super delicious and, on top of that, they make us feel full. Especially fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of water can help us lose weight.

  • Grapefruit
    Grapefruits are super refreshing, especially in summer. The cross between orange and grapefruit boosts fat burning and helps us get rid of excess pounds. They have an extremely high water content, which leads to a low calorie density and therefore allows us to eat more often. Grapefruits also contain pectin, an indigestible dietary fiber that inhibits cravings and aids digestion.
  • Tomatoes
    At first we didn’t think that tomatoes contained much water – but in fact, they too contain over 90 percent water. Thanks to this fact, 100 grams of the red vegetable have just 15 calories. We have already told you that tomatoes are little all-rounders when it comes to our health. Not only do they contain countless vitamins, minerals and fiber, they also drain the body and flush toxins out of it. But not only toxins, but also the unpleasant water retention is now a thing of the past.
  • Watermelon
    It is definitely the classic summer snack. No other food makes us feel so transported into the summer and think directly of sun, sand and sea – or even the open-air swimming pool – as when we eat watermelon. As the name suggests, it too consists mainly of water – in fact over 90 percent. A little tip: always keep a few slices of already cut watermelon in the refrigerator. If you get hungry, you can take it right away and avoid eating chocolate, chips and the like.
  • Radish
    The small, crunchy tubers are not only delicious, they are also super healthy. The immune system is strengthened by the vitamin C contained in them. At the same time, the magnesium means that we are protected from tension and muscle cramps. 100 grams of radishes contain just under 95 grams of water – so the colorful vegetables have not even 20 calories. So we don’t have to pay attention to the quantity when eating them and can eat as much of them as we want. Perfect when we are not really hungry, but rather feel like having something to snack on.
  • Cucumber
    100 grams of cucumber contain just 12 calories – almost nothing. The green vegetable is the perfect snack: it refreshes, fills you up because of the water it contains, is super low in calories and dehydrated. Without fear of gaining weight, we can snack as much of it as we want. Which also makes kilos tumble in no time, as it drains and thus simply flushes water retentions from the body: water with cucumber and lemon. A great tip, especially for the summer, to stop ravenous appetite and to refresh yourself.
